Counselling in Ambleside, West Vancouver
RCC-credentialed counsellors in Ambleside, West Vancouver. Depth-oriented therapy, English & Farsi. 1571 Bellevue Ave. Free 15- min consult.
Bellevue Avenue, between the seawall and the village, has always been one of the most quietly beautiful streets in Greater Vancouver. We picked this part of Ambleside on purpose.
Baraka Ontology & Clinical Counselling is located in the heart of Ambleside at 1571 Bellevue Avenue, Suite 210, two blocks from the Centennial Seawall and a short walk from the West Vancouver Community Centre, the Ferry Building Gallery, and the cluster of cafés and shops along Marine Drive.
For West Vancouver and North Shore residents looking for depth-oriented, RCC-credentialed counselling — in English or Farsi — we are designed to be a calm, reachable, and professionally serious place to do this work.
Why our location matters for the work
The neighbourhood plays a quiet role in how therapy goes. Coming and going from a place that feels safe and beautiful makes the threshold of starting therapy lower — for many clients, walking the seawall before or after a session has become part of the practice. Our Ambleside office is:
- A short walk from the Centennial Seawall, which we encourage clients to use as a 15- minute decompression buffer after sessions
- A few minutes from John Lawson Park and the Ferry Building, for clients who want to sit somewhere green or by the water before their drive home
- Inside a professional building with a private waiting area, an elevator, and confidentiality designed into the layout — you don't run into your neighbour in the hallway
Getting to our Ambleside office
By car. Free street parking is available along Bellevue Avenue and on the side streets between 14th and 17th. Limited paid parking is available in the neighbouring lots. Most clients find a spot within a one-block walk.
By transit. The 250 and 253 buses serve Marine Drive, two blocks from the office. The 240 connects from downtown Vancouver via Lions Gate Bridge.
From West Vancouver, North Vancouver, and the Sea-to-Sky. Direct access from Marine Drive (Highway 1A) and the Upper Levels (Highway 1) via the 15th Street, 13th Street, and Taylor Way exits.
From downtown Vancouver. Approximately 15 minutes via Lions Gate Bridge, traffic depending.
Accessibility. The building has elevator access and is stroller-friendly. We welcome babies in postpartum sessions.
Who we work with from Ambleside and the surrounding area
Most of our clients live within a 15-minute drive of the office — Ambleside, Dundarave, the British Properties, Caulfeild, North Vancouver, Lions Bay, Park Royal area. We also see clients from
downtown Vancouver, Kitsilano, and the West End who are looking specifically for depth-oriented or bilingual therapy that is harder to find south of the bridge.
Our practice is shaped by who lives here. We see:
- High-functioning professionals — finance, legal, healthcare, tech, founder/executive — managing burnout, anxiety, and the gap between outward success and inner wellbeing
- Long-married couples at midlife transitions — empty nest, retirement, late-stage relationship questions, infidelity recovery
- New parents in the postpartum year, often without nearby family support
- Iranian-Canadian clients — West Vancouver and North Vancouver have one of the largest Persian-speaking populations in Canada, and many of them have not been able to find culturally fluent depth-oriented therapy in their language
- Adults in major life transitions — divorce, career pivots, midlife questions of meaning, immigration, retirement, the loss of a parent
- Adolescents and young adults (with appropriate referrals from family physicians) navigating anxiety, identity, and family dynamics

A practical note on first visits
Plan to arrive about ten minutes early. The waiting area is private and quiet. Sessions begin and end
on time so the next client doesn't overlap with you. The first session is mostly conversation — your story, your context, what brought you here. By the end you'll have a sense of whether we're the right fit, and if not, we'll help you find someone who is.
