Acupuncture

Acupuncture is offered here as a clinical intervention within a broader care plan, not as a cure-all. History and relevant examination help determine whether the concern has evidence for acupuncture, whether warning symptoms need medical assessment, and how response will be measured.

The initial appointment includes assessment and, when appropriate, first treatment. Follow-up appointments are for an established plan and are adjusted according to benefit, tolerability, and changes in health rather than repeating an identical protocol.

How to use this section

Read the safety information and disclose pregnancy, anticoagulant use, bleeding conditions, skin infection, fever, and needle anxiety. Sudden severe pain, weakness, shortness of breath, or other warning signs require medical assessment first.

A course should have a review point. If meaningful change does not appear in the agreed period, the diagnosis, technique, visit frequency, and value of continuing are reconsidered.
